I wasn’t sure what to expect from this restaurant. They have only 8 reviews on Google. But a good rating of 4.3. So I thought, lets give it a go. I was pleasantly surprised and my expectations exceeded.
We were greeted by a friendly waiter and seated at one of the outside tables. The menu is nicely presented and well priced. Limited breakfast options. In my opinion, I think if they add a savory waffle to the menu, it will be one of their best sellers. With bacon, eggs, grated cheese. . . It will be yummy!
The sweet waffles were to die for! We waited about 20 minutes for the food, but well worth the wait. It is one of the best waffles I’ve had in a long time. Served warm, with icing sugar, syrup, and a scoop of Ferrero Rocher and Oreo ice cream. Simply delicious.
Then I was curious about the coffee. And wow, another surprise. The temperature was perfect. Glossy foam. Nice artwork. The aroma and taste were really good. They use a 100% Arabica bean roasted by a proudly South African Coffee Roaster, Bru Coffee. Both the flat white and cortado, perfect! The cortado was served with a glass of water. An unexpected added detail. Its the small things that makes a big difference. Superfood lattes are also available.
The decor however, not my cup of tea. Victorian style interior and furniture. A bit old school and the light pink slightly overwhelming. They can also remove the small cactuses from the tables. No need for it, it just takes up space.
I will definitely return for the waffles and coffee. They are open until late afternoon on weekdays. 7pm on Saturdays and 6pm on Sundays.
